2023 Toyota Corolla Overview
What's New for 2023?
Every Corolla also receives minor visual changes, including LED daytime driving lights and redesigned headlights for the SE, XSE, and XLE. Corolla hatchbacks have a redesigned grille, LED headlights, and rear bumper with chrome accents. Nightshade and Apex trims are no longer offered. And the base L trim has been removed, leaving LE trim as the new entry-level Corolla.
The Corolla Hybrid has two new trims called the SE and XLE. And all-wheel drive is now optional for Hybrid SE and LE trims. Gone is the 139-hp 1.8-liter engine and in its place is a 169-hp 2.0-liter model.
Performance
The 2023 Corolla uses a 169-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder attached to a continuously variable automatic transmission and uses front-wheel drive. While all hatchbacks share that same powertrain, the sedan also offers a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid powertrain used a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor. This combination allows the hybrid to produce 121 horsepower.
Technology & Safety
Every Corolla model has a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Higher-end models also receive wireless charging and an upgraded JBL audio system. As for its safety features, this model comes standard with forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
