In 2021, Toyota stopped producing the Land Cruiser in America. But now the Land Cruiser is making a return, and it’s better than ever. The redesigned Land Cruiser is smaller but has a hybrid powertrain and enhanced off-road capabilities. There’s more to learn about this SUV - continue reading to see what’s offered.
Land Cruiser Highlights
This time, the Land Cruiser shares a platform with the redesigned Lexus GX, offering similar off-road features. It also shares a similar boxy design and now has two-row seating instead of three. This reduction in body size provides better maneuverability and off-road stability.
The new hybrid engine, according to the EPA, offers an estimated 22 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. That’s thanks to the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 326 horsepower and 465 lbs.-ft of torque.
Inside, drivers will find a cabin filled with many great features too. There’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated seats, and a six-speaker stereo. While the base trim offers an eight-inch display, every other trim has a 12.3-inch monitor.
Along with a generous amount of tech, Toyota also equipped the new Land Cruiser with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. This bundle of features includes lane-departure warnings, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and automated emergency braking.
