Now that we’ve entered a new model year, Toyota has started unveiling upcoming new models. One such vehicle is the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander. As the name suggests, this SUV is based on the popular Highlander design and gives it larger proportions. This model will also have a hybrid engine for even better fuel economy. You’ll love this model when it’s released later this year, so keep reading to learn more.

Performance

The Grand Highlander will be powered by three engine options. The base engine is a turbocharged 265-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive.

The other two engines will be hybrid modes. One setup will use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors to produce 243 horsepower. The other, a Hybrid Max powertrain, uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter and an electric motor to produce 362 horsepower.

The EPA has no official rating on this model’s gas mileage. But according to Toyota, the 2.5-liter hybrid will be the most fuel-efficient with a combined 34-mpg.

Technology

Across the three trims of the Grand Highlander will be a slew of tech. A 12.3-inch touchscreen, a seven-inch digital display gauge, and a wireless smartphone charging pad come standard. With higher trims receiving an all-digital 12.3-inch gauge display.

Safety Features

Toyota is all about safety, and it’s why the Grand Highlander will use Toyota’s new TSS 3.0 system. Standard equipment will include automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control. Additional safety features include a blind-spot monitor, automated emergency braking, and road-sign recognition.
