Toyota has recently debuted an innovative all-electric concept car: the Toyota bZ4X battery electric vehicle (BEV). This prototype is the first entry in Toyota's upcoming BEV lineup. Toyota plans on releasing 70 BEVs on a global scale by the year 2025. On a global scale, the brand plans on becoming totally carbon-neutral by 2050. While the bZ4X is only a prototype at the moment, it signals a greener future for this brand. You will find all the latest Toyota hybrids and plug-in electric hybrids here at Palm Beach Toyota.

Innovative Concepts, Soon to Come on New Toyota Models

The Toyota bZ4X concept features a long wheelbase crossover design, similar to the Venza hybrid. It features an "open-concept" interior, with lots of space for the driver and their passengers. The instrument panel is centered a bit lower than usual, making it more accessible for the driver. The dashboard meters, similarly, come positioned for increased driver visibility. We will likely see many of these design cues integrated into future Toyota BEVs to promote driver safety.

The term "bZ" means "beyond zero" and refers to this SUVs all-electric, zero-emission powertrain. This particular SUV kicks off Toyota's next generation of vehicles, all zero-emission, carbon-neutral electric cars. Like the other Toyota hybrids before it, the bZ4X comes standard with all-wheel drive.

Making Big Strides Towards Carbon Neutrality

The Toyota brand plans on moving to total carbon neutrality by 2050. This goal means that, over the next 29 years, we will see the debuts of more BEVs and other alternative energy models. Right now, the brand has 10 hybrids and one fuel-cell car, the latter having limited availability. However, as soon as 2025, Toyota plans on switching 40 percent of its portfolio to renewable energy cars. This includes 70 new electrified vehicles released globally, including seven new additions to the bZ series.
