The 2021 Toyota Camry made its grand debut recently. With this new year, the Toyota Camry turns 37 years old. The 2021 Camry will feature a new exterior style with lots of new features. The star of its features list is the new Toyota Safety Sense® 2.5+ (TSS 2.5+). Toyota has always led the way with many new safety initiatives. Leading the Way in Safety Technology

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mandated automatic emergency braking as a standard feature of all cars by 2022. Toyota introduced this feature five years earlier in 2017. The new TSS 2.5+ system offers the same features of the past suite, with some new additions. The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD) now has intersection support. If an oncoming vehc8iel us detected when making turns at intersections, the driver receives an alert. The PCS w/ PD also works well in low-light conditions.

Other features of the previous TSS 2.0 system receive some upgrades for 2021 as well. The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) gets some enhancements to improve effectiveness at low speeds. The DRCC can now resume original speeds, even from a complete stop. The 2021 Camry also introduces a Rear Seat Reminder to the TSS 2.5+ suite, along with all previous apps.
